Was a bit busy between the last couple of button sets, so here's a big update for all of them.

Halfway point
Had to let my arm recover from helping out with some prop stuff on a film set, but now the third set of buttons is done:
As usual, process work under the break.

It's time to kick my own butt
Yeesh, it's been a while since I dusted this poor thing off. Retail work really drains everything out of you. I suppose there's some good news there: I've moved! Quite a ways. Saved and saved, and now it's time to find a career rather than a job. Exciting.
It's also time once again for the Desert Bus Craft-Along! You know what that means.
It means buttons, that's what it means.
Process pics under the cut.

Desert Bus Buttons 2014
It certainly seems like I should post again.
The rest under the cut.
Have I mentioned I did some buttons for Desert Bus for Hope's Craft-Along again?
The rest under the cut.

Home stretch
I've nearly finished those Pokemon buttons for this year's Desert Bus! Only two more left to make. Time for some photos.

No longer sick
I've recovered from that awful cold I had! (Other than some minor lingering congestion, anyway.) I've also nearly recovered from a double shift at work. Now I can get back to doing some drawing.
Have some buttons.
Cyndaquil hardly ever seems to be pictured in what seems to be its neutral state. I've always thought it took effort for it to have its little flames going, and some of the shots I managed to reference from the show would seem to back that up.
As a bonus, here's some of the little thumbnails and roughs that get scribbled outside the button templates, as well as the first Charmander pass that I ended up disliking. All the buttons (other than the pokeballs) have had little roughs like this where I get used to the proportions and shapes of the subject while finding a pose that I like.

I don't even
I'm sick again.
Wheee.
While I try to recover from this crap, have a look at these lovely buttons I'm making for this year's Desert Bus Craft-Along.

Buttons everywhere
It's really been nearly a week since the last post? It doesn't feel like that long.
Anyhow, I've made some more buttons and kicked off the Eevee set. Only two more left, and then on to the starters.

Buttons and Fixes
I am quite tired today, so less ramble, more images.
First, some progress on the gnome sketch. I realized I was trying to make the perspective far too complicated, and simplified things. Still more fixing to do, of course.
Next, buttons! I finished the first set of buttons I'm making for this year's Desert Bus. The next set will consist of Eevees. The buttons are all hand-drawn with physical media; these were done with pencil, pen, and markers.
If you're interested in the Pokemon buttons, keep an eye on the Desert Bus website, as I don't know how my buttons will be used. Really, just keep an eye on Desert Bus in general. It's a lot of fun toward a good cause.

Headache
Headache tonight. Have some little practice doodles of some Pokemon I've done in anticipation of this year's Desert Bus.
See you on Thursday or Friday.
And a close-up of the Bulbasaur, which has turned out to be my favorite of the doodles.
See you on Thursday or Friday.

Slow Monday
It's been a busy weekend. Started training for my new job, and between that and searching as quickly as possible for some black pants for work, I've been a touch occupied. Not too occupied for the last (so far) of the Pokemon scribbles, though:
I get the feeling Monday updates might be a touch sparse compared to those on Fridays. More days beforehand to build up things to post. Or perhaps I'm wrong, I haven't been on this Monday/Friday update schedule for very long yet.
Haven't gotten the chance to sit down and sketch today, but I'll make an edit to this post should I get anything I feel is substantial enough to be worth it.

More 1-hour Pokemon
While I find out if some of the work I've been doing for a small production is okay to post here (I assume non-disclosure agreements are in effect on non-personal projects until noted otherwise), have some more 1-hour Pokemon desktops.
"But Rox! That's not how Farfetch'd's wings work!" Well, no. Normally, they work wrong, and have no apparent elbow joints. This has always bothered me, so my interpretation fixed that.

What a hiatus, eh?
I return again from holiday exile to bring to you an update.
Have some Pokemon.
Happy New Year! I should resume normal (even scheduled) updates soon.

Update Time
My word, a post? Amazing.
First up, since it's been getting neglected, Gears redesign scribbles:
Went with light-on-dark to trick my recent almost-slump into un-slumping. It seems to have worked. Started off with an almost dinosaur look, but it wasn't quite alien enough. Pushed forward to the six-legged one, which I rather like. Think I'll be sticking with that as a base. Next time on these I'll have some more finished ideas. Less rough.
And here's the next in those Pokemon desktops.
